Athenian black-figure neck-amphora. Hephaeustus on a mule returning to Olympus. Dionysus/Bacchus with a lion, which could refer to one of his ephithets, Διόνυσος Βρόμιος, the Uproaring God, which he shared with a lion; the adjective also refers to thunder that was uproaring at his birth.
