The chapel originally represented Christ Being Undressed; frescoes remain from that period by Gaudenzio Ferrari (Ferrari's sculptures were transported to Chapel 32 c.1628). The current sculptural group depicts the Pieta and is by Giovanni d'Enrico (c. 1635-40).
