Inscribed on the back: 'Cristianimachisimu' and below: LA DEA LATONA PASANDO EL/FIUME. Despite the inscription, the subject seems not to represent Latona. As Dr Jennifer Montagu has pointed out, it is more likely to represent the escape of Cloelia
